At NDA-KO, The Kitchen is here to transport you on a culinary journey across the diaspora, to explore flavors, colors, and textures of Afro-Asian food fusion.
The Story
NDA-KO was born out of a friendship between Chloé & Elisa who met back in high school.
Amongst many common interests and hobbies, food has always been something they enjoyed sharing.
Although Chloé was more of a foodie; Elisa has always been the one who enjoyed developing and testing new recipes in her kitchen.
The Kitchen is an ode to their friendship and testimony that shows how different cultures brought together can create something unique, beautiful, and tasteful.
Each dinner takes you on a journey, allowing you to discover Afro food around the world, from Africa, to the Caraibe, Latin America, and more. We aim to introduce you to our Change Agent’s favourite homemade dish, but with an Asian touch by our Chef Elisa.
Be prepared to be transported to an unprecedent stimulating journey.

NDA-KO’s Launch Dinner
Friday October 7th, 18:30 Lindengracht 19, Amsterdam
On Friday October 7th, NDA-KO officially launched (en avant-premiére) with The Kitchen pillar. We marked the beginning of NDA-KO’s journey, by bringing together some of Amsterdam’s culture change-makers over dinner to spark thought-provoking conversations, connections and inspiration.
The evening was hosted in the beautiful Studio Lindengracht by the inspiring founder of Black Achievement Month, John Leerdam.
Our gifted Chef Elisa Gatet designed the menu, inspired by our host, John, and featured his favorite dish, ‘Fuchi i aroz moro ku Bakiljauw stoba’; a local staple from his roots in Curacao: a Caribbean fish stew with a solid base of lemongrass and the subtle touch of Asian-style coconut rice. This was complemented with a Afro-Asian starter and desert.
