With The Kitchen, NDA-KO is looking forward to transporting you on a culinary journey across the diaspora and exploring flavors, colors, and textures with its Afro-Asian food fusion.

The Story…

NDA-KO was born out of a friendship between Chloé & Elisa who met back in high school.

Amongst many common interests and hobbies, food has always been something they enjoyed sharing.

Although Chloé was more of a foodie; Elisa has always been the one who enjoyed developing and testing new recipes in her kitchen.

The Kitchen is an ode to their friendship and testimony that shows how different cultures brought together can create something unique, beautiful, and tasteful.

The Recipe:

Each dinners are aimed to transport you at the discovery of Afro food around the world from Africa, to the Caraibe, Latin America, and more. Our goal is to (re)introduce you to our Change Agents favourite homemade dish but with an Asian touch from our Chef Elisa.

Be prepared to be transported to an unprecedent stimulating journey!

DINNERS HIGHLIGHTS

November 12th, 2022

We brought our members together for our first-ever interactive luncheon on Saturday, November 12th — joined by two amazing Change Agents Shenin Lebrun and Emmanuel Boafo.

Emmanuel and Shenin shared their journey to success and how they chose to go against the grain, forge and follow their own path.

To cap it off, we broke bread with a meal inspired by our two Change Agents and their heritage. Featuring the ‘The Real Red Red’ and ‘Palava You Dey Find’, two signature dishes designed by Chef Elisa.

Check out the highlights from the table, below.

A night to remember 🥂

On Friday, October 7th, the NDA-KO family organized an intimate dinner to celebrate its launch with an amazing group of Amsterdam-based Change Agents.

For this celebratory moment, Mr. John Leerdam, founder of the October Black Achievement Month (BAM) was invited to share more about the organization that is supporting and celebrating Black achievers.

This was also the first time The Kitchen was introduced. For this first edition, the starter and dessert were inspired by some of the Chef's favorite condiments while the main was designed after Mr. Leerdam's favorite Surinamese dish ‘Fuchi i aroz moro ku Bakiljauw stoba’.

This was the first of many dinners looking at bringing you closer to home.
